Introducing UniOrder: A Direct Ordering Platform for Restaurants

Introducing UniOrder: A Direct Ordering Platform for Restaurants

Restaurant owners should not have to give away a large part of every delivery order just to accept payments online. They also should not need one system for online orders, another for the counter, and a paper notebook for table bookings.

That is why I built UniOrder: an all-in-one ordering platform that helps restaurants sell directly to their customers and run day-to-day service from one iPad.

A Direct Relationship With Customers

Every restaurant gets its own branded, mobile-first storefront. Customers can open the restaurant’s link without downloading an app or creating an account, browse categories, customise dishes, apply coupons, and place an order for pickup or delivery.

The storefront belongs to the restaurant. It can be shared on social media, printed on receipts, added to Google, or connected to a custom domain. The aim is simple: make direct ordering as convenient as marketplace ordering while keeping the customer relationship with the restaurant.

One Queue for Every Order

UniOrder brings online, in-store, phone, cash, and QR table orders into a single dashboard. Staff can accept and manage orders in real time, while customers receive a clear checkout flow for either pickup or delivery.

For dine-in service, guests can scan a QR code at the table and order from their own phone. For counter service, staff can enter orders on the same iPad. This keeps the front of house and the kitchen working from one shared source of truth instead of several disconnected order channels.

From Order to Kitchen Ticket

The platform also connects ordering to the physical workflow of a restaurant. A receipt can print at the register, while kitchen tickets are routed to the stations that prepare the dishes. Restaurants can add printers for areas such as the wok, grill, bar, or desserts over their existing Wi-Fi, without a separate back-room server.

That connection between the digital order and the kitchen is important. A successful online checkout is only useful when the right people see the right items at the right time.

Built for a Fast Setup

Getting started follows three steps:

  1. Create an account and connect Stripe to accept online card payments.
  2. Add the menu, opening hours, delivery zones, fees, and preparation time.
  3. Share the storefront link and manage incoming orders from the dashboard.

Menus support photos, descriptions, modifiers, allergens, and categories. Delivery zones can be configured by suburb with custom fees, and opening hours can include holiday overrides. Restaurants can also manage table bookings, coupons, reports, and CSV exports from the same platform.

A Simpler Pricing Model

UniOrder uses a pay-as-you-go model. In-store and cash orders are free, with no monthly subscription or lock-in. Online card orders use one rate that includes Stripe’s online payment processing fees, so there is no separate Stripe bill to reconcile.

This model is designed for restaurants that want to start small, keep their existing hardware where possible, and pay in proportion to their online sales rather than committing to another fixed monthly system.

Start With the Restaurant, Not the Marketplace

UniOrder is built around a straightforward idea: restaurants should own the ordering experience. A branded storefront, unified order dashboard, direct payments, delivery controls, table ordering, and kitchen printing should work together without a collection of plugins and add-ons.

If you run a restaurant and want to try direct ordering, you can get started with UniOrder.
